What exactly is intuition?

Many use the term ‘sixth sense’, ‘hunch’ or ‘instinct’ to describe intuition, which suggests that it is the ability to access, process and use information without the use of the five physical senses. But this can’t be further from the truth!
Think about it: when someone describes an intuitive experience, they usually say things like “My heart told me…” or “I saw the whole thing in a flash…”. Which clearly shows that the information was received through their five physical senses. This means: by increasing your awareness of how you process information, you begin to strengthen your sixth sense – your intuition.
And when you begin to train this very learnable ability, you begin to experience great changes in every areas of your life, as these examples and stories will show you…

Intuition can enhance your creativity

Best-selling author of “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” Richard Bach credited The Silva Method openly in Harper’s Bazaar magazine for providing him with the idea of his book. He heard a voice say the title of his book during a walk one night, and his honed intuition told him to act upon it. He wrote what would become a book that sold over a million copies, and even made the cover of Time Magazine.
Richard’s sudden surge of creativity didn’t happen by chance. Professor John Mihalasky, who explored intuition (which he called ‘precognition’) extensively in his years at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and came to this conclusion in one of his articles:
“ The creative idea does not happen by accident. The mind organizes the experiences, facts, and relationships that it has stored in its banks, and stretches out to utilize all information it can get. But the creative idea comes from a mind that has information that it organizes into a path that has not been taken before. Precognition is one way that information not available to those other thinkers working with the normal channels and sources of information comes to creative people.”

Intuition can help you make breakthroughs in your career

Prof. Clancy D. McKenzie, founder of the American Mental Health Association, used Silva techniques since 1969. With the help of the creative insights that he gained from them, he made a major medical breakthrough in understanding the cause of schizophrenia and depression that has helped more than 9,000 patients. He explained that he used Silva techniques to program his dream, after which he would wake up with intuitive ideas and solutions to problems he faced.

Intuition helps you excel in your physical pursuits

Legendary basketball player Larry Bird was once asked: “How is it that you can make those no-look passes, without looking, without knowing who is behind you, and make them perfectly?”
His answer: “I see the play develop before it happens.”
What he practiced was visualization, an essential practice when developing intuition. He pictured himself doing the right thing at the right time, which made it easier for him to execute effortless plays. Those who watched him believed couldn’t believe his great instincts. What they didn’t realize was that his instincts were something he continuously honed.

Intuition can help you improve your relationships

When you are able to experience a strong degree with your partner, you can create deeper, more meaningful relationships. Which is something Silva student Helen Fowler can attest to. She said, “My marriage became stronger and more loving, I didn’t react to situations like I used to and I became Happy again”.
Of course, a better intuition can also help you connect better with others outside of your personal life. And for some, this could save lives. Sam Gonzalez Silva, a long-time Silva instructor, once served as Director of Crisis Services in Nevada. He had to make quick decisions in the emergency room when people who attempted suicide were brought in. He had to make quick evaluations if they needed to be committed or not. He sent many of them home, and never lost any of them.

Intuition allows you to identify your calling or purpose

We are all born with unique talents and gifts that too often get lost, forgotten or left behind to bury themselves deep in our subconscious. Through a special process called the Visioning Exercise, which is a deep theta meditation called Connection to Life’s Purpose, you are able to get glimpses of your life’s calling and allow those glimpse to surface to your consciousness for you to act upon and live a purpose driven life.

Intuition can help you make better financial judgements

Our intelligence is connected to all information. Intelligence uses mind to move around in both the physical and spiritual dimension in search for information to solve all kinds of problems through decision making. Mind, through its ability to see, hear, taste, touch and smell, is what intelligence uses to attune to anything beyond the barriers of time and space. Accurate and useful information for decision making is always available. The Silva Method process for enhancing your intuition is an effective method that allows you to clear up any mix signal you may be receiving and have a clear connection to “knowing” allowing all of your decisions, including financial ones to be the best.
